Concept development and Shopify implementation for a regional bronze retailer, featuring rebranding and custom product photography to elevate the brand’s online presence and user experience.
Challenge
There were multiple challenges with the client’s online store: an outdated design, a weak brand identity, poor quality product shots, and a buggy payment system. These issues negatively impacted customer experience and there were hardly any online sales.
Solution
The decision was made to transition from an outdated WordPress theme to the more robust Shopify platform. This switch allowed us to get localization and payment management functionality out of the box, immediately enhancing user experience and overall functionality of the store. This allowed us to install analytics tools and monitor user behavior in real time.

LEAN UX REDESIGN

Discovery, Market and USER Research

To understand our target consumer better, I’ve initiated a comprehensive discovery phase: preparing a survey to gather insights on user motivations and spending habits. Based on the results, I’ve developed user personas and mapped customer journeys. These visualizations highlighted the steps user purchasing journeys, identifying key pain points and opportunities for improvement.

  • Over 98% of users do not plan to make a purchase when browsing, and only 7% are considering a purchase in the next month. This indicates a long consideration phase.
  • Buyers seek an emotional connection with the pieces, looking for resonance with their personal taste or experiences. They are often looking for unique, high-quality pieces that add a sense of lux to their space.
  • Users are reluctant to finalize purchases during their browsing sessions, lots of abandoned carts.

Rebranding

The rebranding process was a crucial component of the solution, encompassing several key elements: brand identity, product photography and store redesign to follow best practice of modern ecommerce.

We've produced in-house product shots, giving full control over style and quality, ensuring that final images were high-resolution and professionally edited to better showcase the quality of the products.

A new logo was developed to reflect the updated brand identity, increasing the appeal of store to the  target audience.

UPdated STORE

Following the branding and product photography updates, I focused on building a visually appealing, simple and user-friendly design that facilitated easy navigation and a pleasant shopping experience, this laid out ground work to improve the web analytics tools and analyze user behavior in real time. Updated storefront UI was contemporary and minimal, communicating luxury through subdued palette and lasting beauty of crafted pieces.

Key improvements included:

  • Responsive Design: Ensuring the site was fully responsive across all devices, providing a consistent experience whether accessed via desktop, tablet, or mobile.
  • Intuitive Navigation: Simplified navigation structures that made it easier for users to find products and information.
  • Enhanced Visuals: Use of high-quality images and a clean layout to improve the overall aesthetic appeal of the site.

As result of redesign process an outdated Wordpress theme was transformed into a modern, sleek and functional e-commerce store with enhanced functionality and strong brand identity. The transition to Shopify, along with the comprehensive IA redesign and rebranding efforts, significantly improved user engagement rates.
